A modern application of the principles of Goddesses
The principles of the religion of the Goddesses are as applicable today as they were five thousand years ago. Governments, like the people of the ages, have come to power and disappeared, often without a trace, while others have left only a hint of what was once considered great. Death has concurred all. Throughout the ages man made religions have created gods of salvation - gods whose priest would give the comfort of false hopes of salvation; and death has overtaken them all. The Shaman and Psychopomps alone have guided souls to a world of death. But few understood or knew this world. Superstition has been conveyed as knowledge and ignorance has been presented as light. But it has only been through knowledge and understanding that the psychopomps have returned a soul back to life. And it is this principle of knowledge that attunes the spiritual mind of today to the echos of our forgotten ancestors.
The problems we face today are little different from those that faced our ancestors. The span of life has been extended for some, but death still prevails. Governments have changed, but the cruelty of the dictator and despot has remained the same. The sword has given way to laws that are as unjust as cruel as those of the past; and the injustices of the past still abound throughout the world today. Even in America, where knowledge has replaced so much ignorance, the people still cling to ignorance. We can take solace in knowing that 12% of Americans believe Elvis Presley is still alive. Is it any wonder that so many would then believe that their dead god still lives?
Truth and righteousness are the foremost principles of the Goddesses; and it is only through truth that we can learn to walk the dark path of death. We see the failure and the reality of ignorance and wrong most clearly today (Fall, 1998) in President William Jefferson Clinton. The principle of truth does not require that truth be advanced in every situation. "I have not acted guilefully, neither have I dealt deceitfully, nor spoken to deceive to the hurt another" is the law by which we must strive to live. The &hurt another" determines what one must bear on his conscience.
We are all familiar with the circumstances leading up to President Clinton deceiving the American people to protect his own reputation. It is not important that it is the American people themselves who have demanded an anti-sex standard that violates the laws of the Goddesses. Clinton, as President of the United States, owed his people the truth. Not the truth demanded by his adversaries, but the truth he was eventually forced to admit. Admission of wrong is the first step to forgiveness, and forgiveness is only required by those who were actually harmed. There was nothing wrong in Clinton's sexual acts. But in lying about this to the American people, he betrayed a trust the people held in him. But Clinton is the lesser of many evils, and it is the trust of the people Clinton must regain.
His enemies, on the other hand, have committed the greater wrong. It is they who have worked affliction; intentionally sought for the President to feel pain, and grief; and glory as he, his family and supporters weep; and all this is being done through a self-righteousness that borders on hubris. Clinton betrayed a trust, but his enemies have betrayed the laws of the Goddess. Now as they sit in smug judgement, the right thinking person must not get caught up in the seeking retribution. That is a path that leads to deceit; for it is a deception that we must do anything but give or withhold our forgiveness. That is our sole judgement. Anything further leads us on a false path, and if we cannot follow the path of Truth and Right in this life we cannot even find the Path in death. Clinton has betrayed each of us. But he harmed none of us. Each individual must decide whether to forgive. The Pagan can understand why Clinton, who professes to be a Christian, would lie to save face and reputation with Christians. But that it is not our responsibility to determine his fate. It is the members of Congress who must decide whether he will continue as the leader of our country will be. And since none in Congress has any knowledge of the Laws of the Goddess, they alone are responsible for their acts - even though they may claim to represent the people. Without passing judgement on any in Congress on this matter, it is clear that some and perhaps many will judge according to their perverted Christian reasoning. That too, should not be the concern of the right think person. We must focus on the truth we seek for ourselves, and not on the wrong of others. Some of us may have it within our power to elect new members of Congress who think as they do. Others will be hopelessly surrounded by those who seek retribution and who will elect those who are of a like mind. But one thing is certain. The fate of a nation that hates the Goddesses is of little consequences to the Gods. Death is the ultimate conquered, and in the ticking of eternity, this moment will pass.
Pariphides discovered how fickle Destiny is when he tripped over his massive buckler, from behind which he was invincible, and had killed scores of Trojans. But in this sudden change of fortune, as he struggled to recover his footing, he was killed by Hector. There is a justice that works against hubris, and irony is the handmaid of Justice. Were the Goddesses to intervene it would be with both justice and irony. In the case of President Clinton, were the Gods or Goddesses to intervene, all the efforts of the opposition would be turned against them. They would, like Pariphides, metaphorically, have their armor be their downfall. That is the principle of retribution for hubris, but the reality is, the government leaders of America are so ignorant that even their most grievous affronts go unnoticed by the Gods.
